Yes, you can rent out your apartment, house, villa or finca in Mallorca for months while living somewhere else. On MUVAWAY everything happens online: the listing, the chat with your tenant, your confirmation and the monthly rent via Stripe. On the island, all you need is someone who hands over the keys and looks after your home.
Which months do you make available?
You spend a few weeks on the island in spring and the summer with your family? Then you mark the remaining months as free. A booking lasts from 32 nights to 12 months, and tenants can book up to 12 months ahead. You set the minimum and maximum stay yourself. That way someone lives in your home while you are away, and it is free when you come back.
Who looks after things locally?
You arrange that: your caretaker, a trusted key holder or a property manager you appoint. This person hands over the keys on move-in day from 15:00, answers questions about the property and organises repairs. MUVAWAY is not a property manager; it is the platform for the listing, chat, booking and payment process. The tenant pays the deposit directly at the key handover, not through MUVAWAY.
What do you do online?
- Listing: six pages covering property, details, rules, photos, price and review. The team checks the photos and details, then publishes the listing.
- Get ready: confirm the conditions, add your tax details and set up your payout account with Stripe right on MUVAWAY. Stripe confirms it once with a code.
- Booking: the tenant books with dates, number of people, any pet and an introduction in their own words, and checks their ID with Stripe.
- Chat: you sort out questions in the chat on MUVAWAY, wherever you are.
- Confirmation: you confirm within 48 hours or decline.
How does the rent reach you?
Month 1 is paid when you confirm; if move-in is more than 80 days away, it is paid 80 days before. It is paid out at the earliest 48 hours after the agreed move-in, as long as nothing is open about a defect, a missed move-in or the deposit. From month 2, the rent is charged to the tenant's card 10 days before each rental month and paid into your account at the start of the month. If a payment does not come through, you hear about it the same day.
Listing is free. Stripe deducts the platform fee of 8% + 21% VAT, 9.68% in total, from each month's rent paid. With €1,800 a month, you receive €1,625.76.
