When each part is due

Nothing is due before the contract. After that the dates depend on what you agreed — every case is here.

The cases

  1. 01

    The normal case

    One month's rent falls due on signature as a deposit, payable within 48 hours. The remaining rent, the security deposit, the fixed extra costs and our fee must have reached the owner 7 days before move-in. The keys follow after that.

  2. 02

    From 4 months

    On longer stays the remaining rent can be split: one half before move-in, the other mid-term. That is the owner meeting you halfway, not an entitlement — whether it applies is stated in your contract.

  3. 03

    Moving in at short notice

    If fewer than 7 days lie between signature and move-in, the lead time cannot be kept. Everything then falls due within 48 hours of signing, and in any case before the handover. By instant transfer that is possible the same day.

  4. 04

    Paying at the handover

    In individual cases the rest can flow on the handover day: after the viewing, against payment received and the keys. We agree that per booking and only if the owner accepts — it is not on offer.

  5. 05

    If the property is not as listed

    If it differs materially from the listing at the handover, you walk away on the spot. You then get back everything you paid, the deposit included.

Who receives what

  • Rent and the security deposit go directly to the owner.
  • The security deposit is 2 months' rent and comes back from them after the return.
  • Our fee goes to MUVAWAY.
  • We hold no money in escrow and run no account for the rent.

The tenant fee is 10 % of the total rent, plus 21 % VAT. All rates in detail →
