Alaró lies on the southern edge of the Serra de Tramuntana, around 25 minutes from Palma, below the Castell d'Alaró ruins on their table mountain. The village has become popular with newcomers in recent years without losing its rural character: a Saturday market, workshops, a school and doctors. Mountain paths start at the edge of the village. Palma is around 25 minutes on the Ma-13 and Ma-2100. The nearest station is Consell or Lloseta, each ten minutes away.
