Esporles lies on the southern slope of the Serra de Tramuntana, about 20 minutes from Palma. The village runs along a stream through a green valley and has, in the Passeig del Rei, one of the loveliest main streets on the island. Unlike the better-known Tramuntana villages, Esporles is not a tourist destination but a place to live, with a school, doctors and shops. The La Granja open-air museum is a few kilometres away. For a seasonal rental, Esporles combines proximity to the mountains with a drive to Palma that works for daily life.
Daily life and getting around
Esporles has a supermarket, bakers, doctors, a school and a Saturday market. The village is walkable, with the Passeig del Rei as its central axis.
Palma is around 20 minutes on the Ma-1120, Valldemossa 15. There is a bus to Palma but infrequent.

Families and professionals who need Palma daily but want to live in green surroundings. Esporles is the most practical Tramuntana address after Bunyola.
The village carries on normally in winter, because it does not live off tourism. It is damper and cooler than the coast — check the listing for heating.
